How
To Make An Aromatherapy Mist
Spray
by Gabrielle
Souczek, ©2008
Making your own aromatherapy mist is an easy, inexpensive and effective
way to benefit from essential oils in your daily life.
To make a mist, you need a 4 oz (120 ml) glass bottle with a nozzle
that sprays a fine mist. You can find these types of bottles
in a pharmacy or health food store. Make sure to use only a
glass bottle, as some therapeutic-grade essential oils can break down
plastic.
Once you have your bottle, fill it 3/4 full with purified water - I
prefer distilled water. Then
add 10-15 drops of your favorite
essential oil(s). Shake well to
mix the oil and the water before every
use. Spray and enjoy.
I bring my aromatherapy mists with me wherever I
go. I use them to freshen the air, to kill
bacteria, to boost my energy and
more.
You can use any pure therapeutic-grade essential oil to
create your own aromatherapy mists.
Here are a few of my favorite recipes:
Peppermint - a cooling
and refreshing mist, great for hot summer days.
Clove or "Thieves" blend - for
killing harmful bacteria on hands - also good for as an antiseptic, for
cleaning wounds
Lavender, Lemon and
"Purification" blend - for use as an air purifier and freshener.
Lavender or "Peace and Calming"
blend - a calming and soothing mist, for meditation, sleeping and
relaxation.

essential oils only.
